Hello, Im Mike Wilson. In October 2007 my wife Sheila and I meet Thom. We were in search of our retirement home in rural North West Florida. On several occasions Thom spent many long hours driving us around and showing us homes. He showed us approximately 25 houses. We eventually found the house we were looking for in Sunny Hills, about 30 miles north of Panama City. We have very good credit and didn’t anticipate any problems. Well, we were wrong. The previous owner was in default and the house very near foreclosure. We made an offer and agreed on a price with the owner. His bank wouldn’t accept it and went into foreclosure. Thom kept us informed on a daily basis. The contract was cancelled and the house was off the market. In the mean time Thom showed us several other properties, none of which really struck us. About 4 months later the same house was back on the market, now owned by the bank. We again agreed on a price and thought we were moving forward. Thom kept working with us continually. When our bank wouldn’t finance the purchase because the appraisal didn’t have comparable sales in the area, Thom stepped in and found a local bank that would. They understood the situation. Without Thom we would never have found them. Throughout the entire 9-month process Thom was always there in constant communications taking care of everything. His very thorough knowledge of everything needed to complete a real estate transaction was invaluable. It wouldn’t have happened without him. He coordinated and set up everything, appraisal, home inspection, termite inspection and treatment and anything else that was required. There were many times I thought we would never overcome all the hurdles and own this home, but Thom kept it going and we finally closed in June 2008. Over the years we have purchased several homes, but we have never worked with an agent that was more knowledgeable, cooperative and hard-working than Thom Bachelder. I can’t imagine any real estate transaction in the NW Florida area without Thom Bachelder. – Mike & Sheila Wilson
